When I first met Marcus, a street man I saw everyday going to work, I did not make eye contact nor give him money. Slowly, I felt a change in my heart and started talking to him, learning about why he was there. The story was not what I expected. Because of Marcus, I started looking up instead of down when I saw others on the street. I started having those conversations with others and giving as I could. I can't submit a photo of him as he is very sensitive about his situation and not trusting of many people. Through chance and circumstance, he lives in cold and uncertainty, while I live in comfort and security. Since knowing Marcus, I have made RAK part of my everyday life, as well as a birthday gift to myself in the 55 days leading up to my 55th birthday. I am a proud RAKtivist because of Marcus.
