Giving a hand
At a local business open house, an elderly couple were browsing together. He in a transport chair, his wife pushing him. She was unable to push him up the slope that had brought them around to the back. The man insisted he would walk up the stairs inside the building. While he very slowly got up the stairs, wife on one side, handrail on the other, I ran his transport chair around the building and back in at the top of the stairs. He was exhausted and trembling, and grateful that it was ready for him at the top of the stairs. Others had walked right by them without any acknowledgement of their struggle. Kindness is free!
