How Can I Help You
For many years now when you call a business the first words you hear from the person who answers the phone say is How Can I Help You or Your Call Is Very Important To Us as they keep you on hold forever.
Recently my 92-year-old husband and I went early on a Sat morning to the DMV to see if he could renew his drivers license.
We got there at 7:30 and there was already a line but not too bad. I took our walker so we could at least take turns leaning on it when not needing to walk.
It wasn’t long before a young woman perhaps in her 30s came forward with her pink folding chair and said here you two can share this. I was at first shocked and then so grateful to her. I thanked her and said we would return it once we got to the entrance. She said no keep it was only $7 to which I said you keep it you may be able to share it with others and thanked her.
That small gesture and several others got me thinking how impolite and self centered we as a nation have gotten, and I decided right then to see if I as one can make some minor changes in my life and the life of others, thus joining Acts of Kindness with a new attitude Find a Need and Fill It.
