Two and a half years ago I began the toughest and most rewarding job I've ever had. I am the live-in caregiver for my sister-in-law's mother. Ruth has dementia.
I was worried I wouldn't be able to handle this whole thing. It has been the most challenging growth experience of my life!
Ruth is my hero. In spite of how tough her life is due to her memory impairment, she always finds something sweet to say to everyone around her. She tells me how pretty I am and how she loves me multiple times a day, and she always wants to help me if I'm tired or not feeling well.
She is my world and my inspiration to be a good human being.
