Make kindness the norm tm

The mission of The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation is to make kindness the norm in our schools, workplaces, homes & communities. We work toward that goal by creating free content that promotes kindness toward others & teaches important social emotional learning skills to kids.

All our resources for schools, home & community & the workplace are free.

We also have other resources to inspire you to be kind wherever you are—kindness ideas, kindness quotes, the kindness blog, kindness videos and kindness stories.

Kindness at School

Don't just expect kindness from your kids—teach them! We have taken our CASEL approved, highly effective, evidence-based Kindness in the Classroom® social emotional learning curriculum and made it better. By including a focus on equity, teacher self-care, and digital citizenship, we are excited to share a more engaging, relatable, and inclusive curriculum.

Mini-lessons

While academics are important during this time of distancing, we believe social emotional skills are incredibly valuable to our mental health.

For those of you looking to include social emotional learning into your daily/weekly curriculum, we've added some mini-lessons that can be done at home alone or with others in your household. Most importantly, take care of yourself and your own well-being. It's not easy to learn if you aren't practicing self care!

NEW WORKPLACE RESOURCE

Seven steps to creating kindness in the workplace

7 Steps to Creating
Kindness in the Workplace

The origin of the word culture comes directly from the Latin word cultura which means to grow or cultivate. Culture is key to a company’s success or failure. Creating a workplace where people feel connected, have a sense of purpose, and are appreciated and recognized for their contributions makes for a stronger, more successful organization.

This Kindness in the Workplace action planning guide includes seven key ingredients that make for a positive and kind culture where people want to show up and do their best:

  1. Setting a Tone
  2. Modeling Behavior
  3. Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment
  4. Strengths, Mistakes and Growth Mindset
  5. Trust, Boundaries and Belonging
  6. Communication and Collaboration
  7. Celebration

Let’s blanket our world with LOVE! It’s simple! Just make a heart from any object and tape it to a street-facing window to send your love out to the world. Encourage all your friends to do the same. Then, in a few days, take a family walk (keeping 6 feet distance from others!) to search for other hearts on houses. How fun it will be to watch the love grow!
