Empowering Africa
Submitted by Dalton WilsonNia Z. Sherar is the most inspirational and hardworking human on this planet. Nia had the dream of planting corn in Africa to help feed the impoverished people. She made the dream of assisting those in need in Africa a reality. She traveled to Kenya with her own money and began giving out microcredit loans to women. She then started the Opportunity Fund for Developing Countries. From 1999-2017, Nia voluntarily fulfilled the position of Executive Director and impacted the lives of thousands of women and children living in Bolivia, Guatemala, Malawi, Nepal, and Kenya. She continues to volunteer in areas where she is passionate and will never stop having an impact on the lives of those around her.
