Deep water.
My street has a spot near my house that floods regularly during heavy rain, and snow melt. I will clear the drain when l can with a rake or shovel... whatever it takes. I have pushed by hand, or towed out many cars.
One in particular was special. A young mom with her baby in the car stalled out in the deepest spot. (About two 1/2 feet of water) I ran over and pushed her out by hand, the child in back stayed dry and happy. Once out the car would not start. Being an older car with a distributor cap, a screwdriver and WD40 was all it took. I had her running in short order. I told her to keep the car running for at least 30 minutes to dry out the muffler & catalytic converter. She asked how much I owed her. Like I always told people, big or small just pay it forward.
Fast forward about a year we had a true downpour gully washer. Streets everywhere were flooded. This time it was my turn. I tried to keep to the streets that were not prone to flooding... but. My car stalled in about a foot of water. Before I could even get out of the cat a man literally jumped off of his porch and ran over to push me out of the water. We ended up right in front of his house. I thanked him and looked over to the porch to see none other than the woman and child I helped. Hugs and laughs about the pay it forward moment, come full circle. The perfect end to a rainy day.
BTW years before the movie. My mother and father led by example there, teaching us all to live by example and kindness.
