Welcome!

The days are getting a little longer and the sun is shining a little brighter! That means we’re closer to spring and much closer to meeting all of you in person! We’re pretty giddy (that word isn’t used enough). Below we hope we’ve provided everything you need to know about what to expect in Denver.

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. In the meantime, just picture us bouncing up and down on our toes, hands clasped, eyes wide open with a big grin on our face anxiously awaiting your arrival!

Did you know Denver is a mile high? As cool as that is, it also comes with altitude sickness. Here are some suggestions to help prevent and/or minimize altitude sickness while you're here:

  • Stay hydrated! Drink lots of water.
  • Stay below 7,000 feet the first day if you can (the city of Colorado Springs is 6,035 feet above sea level.)
  • Give your body time to adjust (there's lots to see and do at lower altitudes.)
  • Avoid strenuous exercise the first day.
  • Limit alcohol intake.
  • Always travel with a companion.

The Brown Palace Hotel does not provide shuttle service from the airport so we encourage you to take public transportation. If you plan on hanging around downtown, you don’t need to rent a car as the city is very walkable & has plenty of free public transportation.

Public Transportation From Denver International Airport:

  • After picking up your luggage, go downstairs to the light rail station.
  • Purchase a "Regional/Airport" train ticket into the city ($10.50 each way) using the ticket vending machines or the UTD Mobile Tickets App.
  • Board train and ride all the way to Union Station (the last stop)
  • Walk 1/2 block to the Free 16th Street Mall Ride busses (on 16th street)
  • Ride the bus to the Tremont Place stop (will take about 20 minutes)
  • Walk one block to The Brown Palace at 17th and Tremont

Driving From Denver International Airport: If you are renting a car, we suggest reserving prior to arrival.

  • Hotel direction: 28 miles SW from DIA
  • Travel south and take the ramp onto Peña Boulevard.
  • Travel 11.4 miles and merge onto Interstate 70 West.
  • Travel 8.9 miles to exit 274 for Interstate 25 South and travel 1.3 miles.
  • Follow signs for Park Avenue/Downtown and merge onto Fox Street/Park Avenue West.
  • Follow Park Avenue West for 1.1 miles to 22nd Street.
  • Continue onto 22nd St for 0.6 miles and make a slight right onto Broadway.
  • Travel 0.5 miles and turn right into Tremont Place.
  • Take the first left onto 17th Street and the hotel will be on the left.
  • Parking at the Brown Palace:
  • Valet parking, fee: $52 USD daily
  • Valet parking only, $52 per day with in & out privileges

    • Green/romaine heart, chopped iceberg, baby greens
