If it’s a topic you genuinely enjoy or are passionate about, share your knowledge: start discussions and answer questions for others.

Online forums have turned into incredible digital support groups and have proved very helpful in helping people to feel less isolated. Don’t be shy about joining a new community! Make members feel supported and assist with answering questions or providing feedback. Even “liking” content you enjoy is much appreciated when it comes to interacting with your online community.

  • When my children were away at college I hosted an Empty Nester charity baby shower. I invited all my fellow empty nesters to bring diapers and or baby gifts which we donated to charity. We had fun playing silly games, while catching up with each other. It was way more successful than I had hoped and the charity (Robin’s Nest) was thrilled to receive the donations.

  • Forums come in many forms in this day in age... I am proud to belong to different forums online, but love to also join public chat forums like this here, where we can kindly encourage each other little by little. Every little bit helps... All things will love & compassion.

  • I've been able to reach out and help a lot of people through forums. I've encouraged dozens of people to question old habits and try new things. I've made some people happy when before they were feeling stressed. Given people new interests.
