Helping Hand

I went to visit the church close to the site of the World Trade Center. They had little plastic hands on a table and asked everyone to take one and give someone a "helping hand" in the future.

I came back to Belfast, Northern Ireland and volunteered for the SOS bus project. Once a month I go out along with a great team and give out tea, coffee, soup and kindness to students, tourists, the homeless and anyone who passes by (until 3am ) in the morning.  (The bus is there every Friday and Saturday). Everyone asks why we do it? For one simple reason: we want Belfast to be a kinder, nicer and safer place.

I love that idea ... helping hands. What a perfect pass it on concept. It also puts the power in the "hands" of the doer. So many lovely metaphors. Thank you for sharing this with us!
