One of my favorite kind things to do is to pick up trash while I'm in nature places. I've done it so often now that I don't go for a hike without a trash bag. I stick the bag in my water bottle waist pack. I fill one bag, that's it. There's usually a public trash can at the trail head so I don't have to haul the bag home. I get happy when there isn't any trash to pick up, but usually I find something to pick up along the community open space trails. Today's kindness idea about stepping up to clean up more than just our immediate mess reminded me that as the weather is warming and I'm out of doors more I can get back into my trail trash pick up routine!
