A "Kindness Day" Off

Paul Lamb is not your average consultant.  He is the Principal of Man on a Mission Consulting, a management consulting firm specializing in social change through business and technology. He has built several successful nonprofit organizations and social enterprises in the areas of youth, workforce development, and technology.

Paul is also an author, blogger, and a frequent Op-Ed contributor and radio commentator on technology and social issues through media outlets like the Huffington Post, NPR’s Marketplace, and on CNET.com. The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation came to know Paul when he recently appeared on the KQED radio show to share his experience in taking a “kindness day” off of work, and wrote an Op-Ed called The Kindness Cup for Huffington Post.

During his “kindness day” off of work Paul placed thank you notes for his neighbors on their doorsteps and left piles of change at payphones for others to use. As news of his “kindness day” off got out, he was invited to participate in Yahoo’s “How Good Grows” campaign; they sent him $100 to help him start a ripple of goodness campaign. Paul chose to use the money to print hundreds of fliers, encouraging the readers to tell Starbucks to start printing kindness “actionables” on all of their coffee cups, so that every time someone picks up one of the 4 million cups of coffee that Starbucks sells each day “a seed will be planted to commit a good act.” He and his two daughters then spent a day putting the posters up in Starbucks’ restrooms.

Paul clearly lives and breathes kindness, and is an inspiration to us all to do the same!

Thank you Paul for your inspirational dedication to change the world with Kindness.
